ELISE ROLLER
Founder / CEO /
Artist Manager / Shareholder

  • Roller publicly launched Misfit Music Management in 2021 with the announcement of its full-time roster and innovative Artist Evolution program. In 2023, she was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in Music Canada Honours, received Manitoba’s Kevin Walters Legacy award, and has been nominated for Manager of the Year at the Canadian Live Music Awards two years in a row, making the shortlist in 2024.

    Roller has been actively involved in the Canadian music scene since 2008 first beginning as a self-managed artist with multiple projects, then throwing in the artist hat to put on a power suit a decade later. She spent four years as the Industry Development Coordinator at Manitoba Music where she connected music creators and industry professionals on an international scale, building training programs, and offering career development consultations to music entrepreneurs. She served four years as Pride Winnipeg’s main stage producer, has booked and managed tours for a number of Canadian acts, and has been successful at securing funds and building teams for a variety of musicians and projects.

    Roller is a social butterfly, master networker, and has an innate ability to connect with anyone and everyone. Her drive for excellence along with her passion to motivate, inspire, and show appreciation for music creators has positioned her as a beloved leader and mentor within the global music community.

CLAIRE BONING
CFO / COO / Artist Manager / Shareholder

  • Claire joined Misfit Music Management in early 2023 as an artist manager, consultant, and operations manager. Later that year, she became a co-owner with Elise, the founder of Misfit. Prior to joining Misfit, Claire worked for six years at the Provincial Music Association, Manitoba Music, where she held various roles such as artist consultant, membership & volunteer coordinator, grant administrator, and youth mentor. Throughout her career, Claire has had the opportunity to participate in conferences and festivals around the world, representing artists and building valuable connections. She continues to play a crucial role in launching Manitoban and Western Canadian artists into global markets while advocating for their music communities.

    In addition to her professional work, Claire demonstrates her musical talent as the drummer for Winnipeg trio Veneer, with over a decade of experience performing in multiple bands and opening for notable acts such as Low, Swervedriver, and The Dandy Warhols, as well as appearing at festivals throughout Canada and New York. She also serves on the board of Cluster, the innovative music and integrated arts festival, and recently held the position of Programming Manager for Music Managers Forum Canada.

    Claire's dedication to the music industry and her unwavering support for artists establish her as a dynamic and influential force in the field, positioned to continue making a meaningful impact in the future.

CHRIS BRYSON
Marketing & Logistics Manager / Director

  • Chris is the Misfit glue, holding the team together with his attention to detail, research skills, and eclectic music tastes alongside marketing, writing, and design skills. With a Management Certificate, Marketing Management Diploma, Public Relations and Strategic Communication Diploma, and Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications Degree, he’s a multifaceted professional who’s been instrumental in the growth and development of Misfit Music Inc. and its artists.

    Chris is a director at Misfit who oversees Distribution, Live Performance, and Marketing Communications. He handles the day-to-day with live performance logistics, and creative writing assets like bios and marketing plans. Chris also leads creative marketing, including brand development and digital media.

    Chris loves the arts, and, in addition to countless hours of personal study, he’s always broadening his music knowledge through mentorships, industry workshops, conferences, seminars and the like, as well as writing Exclaim! and previously for Stylus Magazine.

    All about purposeful work, Chris is driven to help people tell their stories, find their audience, grow their communities, and succeed in meaningful ways.

CEC LOPEZ
Executive Assistant

  • Cec is a producer and artist from Treaty 1 Territory. They are passionate about working with and helping to facilitate creative practices by underrepresented and emerging artists, especially BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, gender minorities, low income, immigrant, and disabled artists. They believe that people are attracted to authenticity and that confidence comes from expressing their true self, which is why they feel liberated in writing more explicitly queer music.

    Cec was part of the 2022 RBCxMusic First Up class and has received scholarships to attend Mix With the Masters and the Frost Place Conference on Poetry. Their own creative work is heavily influenced by 70s soul artists such as Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye, as well as contemporary artists like Lianne La Havas, Charlotte Day Wilson, Yussef Dayes, Daniel Caesar, Matt Corby, and KAYTRANADA.

    Cec is motivated to connect with people through music and loves to help artists and audiences do the same.

IVÁN ESCOBAR
Special Projects Manager

  • A music industry professional based in Toronto, Iván independently leads business and organizational consultancy projects for artists and arts organizations. He continues to manage special projects for the Misfit team, allowing us to open our capacity for serving artists. Iván currently collaborates with Kuné, strategizing a music hub for immigrant musicians in Toronto and has been working as the Hospitality and Logistics Coordinator for Sunfest since 2022. Additionally he is working with The HOOK Sync group, as a sync agent for musicians in the Canadian diaspora.

    He recently worked as a booking agent for Latitude 45, representing artists from around the world and opening the Latin American market for the agency, as a consultant for Folk Music Ontario, and as a Logistics and Hospitality coordinator for Global Toronto. He also established and managed a music/arts programming system for Dundas Place in the City of London (Ontario). In addition, Iván holds a background as an Industrial Engineer with 7+ years of experience in strategic, project, and planning management, process optimization and supervision, and community service volunteer leadership.

DWAYNE MARCIAL
Artist Evolution Consultant

  • Dwayne Marcial is the newest addition to Misfit as a consult in our Artist Evolution Program. He is a talented artist manager at Musik Iz The Motive Entertainment, located in Saint John, NB. With a wealth of experience in the music industry, Dwayne is an expert in a wide range of areas, including management, promotion and marketing, sync placements, talent bookings, and artist development. His skills and expertise have earned him numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. Dwayne is a proud graduate of NBCC, having completed both the Radio Studies program and TV and Video Production program. He has an extensive background working in both fields, having worked in all departments in radio for companies such as Stingray, MBS, Bell, and Pattison. In TV and film, he has worked at NBC Studios, Rogers TV, and on classic indie films like Blue Hill Avenue.

    Currently, Dwayne's music company manages 2 artists and 3 producers on his roster. His clients' music has been heard on prominent platforms like VICE, CBC and Crave TV, solidifying his reputation as a top-tier artist manager. With his diverse background and passion for music, Dwayne Marcial is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
